And he is still among the best! Stefan Kofler finished in 11th place on todays long distance in Men 17 European Championships. Congratulations again. Elia Faes 24th, Fabio Marsoner 30th.

 He seems to be the new rising star among our boys. Stefan Kofler is not only a good orienteer but excellent at MTBO. At the European Youth Orienteering Championships in Tuscany Stefan reached a magnificent 6th place, just over 1min away from a medal. Gold went to the austrian Martin Moser with a time of 33.55. The young athlete from St.Felix performed well also yesterday at the sprint distance, where he fnished in 13th spot.
Also Fabio Marsoner did well and finished 17th today, just some 3 minutes behind Stefan. Congratulations to our boys and good luck for the long distance!

Last trials for the World Cup and WOC tickets in St.Felix |

 On saturday the last trial race of the national team was held on home terrain in St.Felix (best map in the world, by the way). Again good results for our elite athletes Jonas and Christine. Jonas achieved 2nd place, just 2,5 minutes behind Klaus Schgaguler on the 13,5km course with 500climb, while Christine won the duel against Nicole Scalte from US Primiero on the 9,4km course with 400 climb.
Now the national coaches will decide, who will defend the italian colours at the World Cup in Sweden and the World Championships in Ucraine.
The team for the World Cup in Finland has just been fixed: Klaus Schgaguler (Gronlait), Marco Seppi (CUS Bologna), Manuel Negrello and Giancarlo Simion (US Primiero).
